OVER 40 PEOPLE TURNED UP FOR OUR FIRST COMMUNITY RUN CLUB!
On Saturday 8th August, sqWOD teamed up with SANA to bring over 40 people together on Tenby beach for our first community run club. The plan was simple: move, connect, and prove that training is better when people show up together. Not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning.
At sqWOD, we've always believed training is about more than just the workout. It's the people you meet, the places it takes you and the feeling of being part of something. SANA shares that same mindset. Founded by Ken and Chloe, their fitness app connects to your wearable and rewards you for healthy habits like walking, running, and even getting a good night's sleep.
We liked what they were doing. They liked what we were doing.
So naturally, we got a load of people together and made them run down a beach...
Over 40 runners joined us for the morning, with everyone from regular runners, to CrossFit athletes, to people who simply fancied just getting involved. We even had a few four-legged runners come long too. After a quick warm-up led by Chloe from SANA and Tom from sqWOD, we set off for around 3km along the Tenby coastline. Blue skies, sunshine and 40 people running together. What more could you ask for?
Once everyone made it back, there was really only one way to cool off. Plenty of the group headed straight into the sea for a post-run dip before grabbing some goodies from SANA's partner brands which included ELEAT, WOD Powders, and HYLA - plus a fresh pair of sqWOD socks, obviously the highlight.
Then came arguably the most important part.
Coffee and lunch.
Everyone stuck around, chatted and got to know each other, which was EXACTLY what we wanted from the morning.
The run brought everyone together, but the people made the morning what it was. A massive thank you to everyone who came down and got involved. For our first community event, we couldn't have asked for a better turnout.
And we're definitely not stopping at one.
